Questions people ask

Straight answers about prices, timelines and what working with me is like. Don't see your question? Bring it to a rant session.

What kind of businesses do you work with?

Small and medium businesses whose work runs on spreadsheets, databases and email. Recent projects include a fashion brand that runs its whole product development in Airtable (from design sign-off to factory samples, purchase orders and Shopify), a recruitment agency tracking contracts, invoices and commission splits, and a training company that sends booking confirmations straight from Google Sheets. I have clients in the US, UK and Belgium.

How much does it cost?

There are four packages: an audit from $500, a database build from $750, an automation project from $1,500, and ongoing support from $125/hour. The audit is a fixed price. For everything else I'll give you a price once I've seen your setup, and the free 30-minute call is where that starts. See the packages.

How long does a project take?

An audit takes 1–2 weeks and a database build 2–4 weeks. Automation projects depend on how many workflows you need. Most clients start small and add automations once the base is solid.

Airtable, Google Sheets or Excel: which one do I need?

Google Sheets or Excel is fine for a list that one or two people keep up to date. Airtable is worth it when records link to each other (clients, orders, products, suppliers), several people edit at once, or you need approvals, forms and simple apps on top of your data. I'll tell you honestly which fits, and sometimes the answer is to tidy what you already have. More on Airtable and Google Sheets & Excel.

Zapier, Make or n8n: which should I use?

Zapier is the easiest to start with and fine for simple "when this happens, do that" jobs. Make handles longer workflows for less money. n8n is the most flexible and can run on your own server, so costs stay flat as volume grows. One client generates all their purchase-order and tech-pack PDFs with n8n. I build in all three and pick the one your team will be able to look after. More on automation.

Can you fix the setup I already have?

Yes, that's most of my work. I start by mapping what you have, then clean it up: merging duplicates, fixing broken formulas and linking records that should be linked. For one client I removed several thousand duplicate records and added a daily check that flags new problems before they spread.

Can you connect it to my other tools?

Usually, yes. I've connected Airtable and Google Sheets to Shopify, Slack, Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, a recruitment ATS and PDF generators. If a tool has an API or webhooks, it can almost always be connected.

Can you add AI to my workflows?

Yes, where it saves real time. For one client, an n8n workflow sends product sample photos to an AI model, which drafts the first round of review notes for the team to check and send. The AI writes the first draft and a person still makes the call.

Do I need to know Airtable or n8n myself?

No. I explain what I've built in plain words, record short walkthrough videos and leave your team able to run it day to day. If you'd like to make changes yourself, I can train you. I've run Google Sheets training for whole teams.

What happens after the project ends?

Everything lives in your own accounts. I add error alerts so problems get noticed straight away, not weeks later. If you want me on hand, the Gallop package gives you monthly hours for changes, monitoring and new automations.

Do you work in my time zone?

I work remotely with clients in the US, UK and Europe. Calls can be booked Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm New York time, and most day-to-day work happens by email or messages, so time zones rarely get in the way.
